膨脹係數： 羽絨經自然膨脹後的最小體積，在等重相較下的評比。其計算方式為一盎司的羽絨(28.4公克)，可以借由羽絨的絨球抓住多少立方英吋的空氣，絨球越大代表能維持更多空氣層，代表更加溫暖。膨脹係數越高的羽絨，保暖能力越強，因此一件填充150g、650FP的羽絨外套，若使用900FP的羽絨可能只需要填充90g便可以達到相同的保暖度；這就是為什麼有的羽絨衣看起來薄薄一件，價格卻相當高昂的原因。市面上常見到的膨脹係數，從300至900均有，其中1000+算是目前最頂級的羽絨。

Fill power (FP) is the smallest volume of down under weight and is compared across equal weight. It's calculated by measuring how many cubic inches of air an ounce (28.4 grams) of down can trap through the down's loft. A larger loft indicates the ability to maintain more air, which means more warmth. Down with a higher fill power provides better insulation. For instance, a jacket filled with 150g of 650FP down might achieve the same warmth with only 90g of 900FP down. This explains why some down jackets appear thin yet are more expensive. Fill power ratings commonly range from 300 to 900, with 1000+ considered the top-tier down that is currently available in the market.
